The extreme weather events we have experienced this summer have necessitated an unavoidable and essential adaptation across all sectors. This is also the case for tourism. In future, in tourist areas and along our cycle routes – as elsewhere – we must expect violent thunderstorms; flooding; gale-force winds; heavy hailstorms; heatwaves; droughts; wildfires… and inevitable population displacements.
A minimum number of accommodation facilities must be resilient and sustainable, with the capacity to serve as emergency accommodation. ‘Resilient’ means capable of passively withstanding heatwaves (bioclimatic design) and intense weather events… but above all, being foldable and/or quickly relocatable. This ensures that such facilities can be provided at acceptable costs, as they are stored and protected out of season and can be easily deployed wherever they are needed. This cutting-edge equipment already exists. Designed and manufactured in the Hauts-de-France region, it is also unusual, experiential, fun and highly cost-effective, whilst also serving as emergency accommodation wherever it is needed. RESILIENCE
A resilient & bioclimatic accommodation RML-classified
Treated as a tent and RML-classified, the TinyRoom® folds away, is stored and moved quickly — where a mobile home (HLL) would stay fixed in place. Small campsites in flood-prone areas, required to install only quickly relocatable equipment, already choose the TinyRoom®, which converts into emergency or spare accommodation.
